When I first started using essential oils, I thought they were just “nice smelling bottles.” What I didn’t realize is how deeply they could support my mind, body, and spirit. These little drops of nature’s essence—carefully distilled from flowers, leaves, roots, bark, and fruit—have become some of my favorite wellness tools.

For centuries, people have turned to essential oils for natural remedies, emotional balance, and even spiritual connection.

Today, I love weaving them into everyday life in simple ways that make a big difference.

Aromatherapy: Breathing in Peace

One of the easiest (and most enjoyable!) ways to use essential oils is through aromatherapy. Just a few drops in the diffuser can completely shift the atmosphere of a room.

On nights when my mind is racing, lavender helps calm my thoughts and prepare me for restful sleep. 

When I need a fresh start in the morning or a mid-afternoon reset, eucalyptus gives me a clear head and a burst of renewed energy. It’s amazing how something so small can change how you feel so quickly.



Topical Support: Comfort Right Where You Need It

Essential oils can also be applied to the skin—always diluted with a carrier oil like coconut, almond, or jojoba.

I often reach for peppermint when my muscles feel sore; the cooling sensation is such a relief. Tea tree is another favorite of mine, especially for keeping my skin clear and balanced.

These simple, natural remedies remind me that God gave us everything we need in creation to care for our bodies.



A Fresh, Healthy Home

One of my favorite swaps has been using essential oils for cleaning. Lemon and tea tree oils make wonderful, non-toxic cleaners that leave my home smelling fresh without harsh chemicals. Not only do they disinfect surfaces, but they also uplift my mood every time I use them. 

It feels good knowing I can keep my family’s space clean and safe, naturally.



Spiritual & Emotional Balance

Essential oils aren’t just for physical wellness—they’ve also enriched my prayer life and quiet time with God.

Frankincense helps me feel grounded and focused when I pray or meditate. Rose oil, with its sweet, uplifting scent, fills the room with a sense of love and peace. I’ve come to see these oils as a gift, helping me slow down and connect more deeply to God’s presence.



Why Quality Matters

With all the good that essential oils can bring, there are also some important things to keep in mind. Not every bottle on the market is pure, even if the label says so. Sadly, many oils are diluted or adulterated, which can make them less effective—or even unsafe.

This is why I only choose oils I can fully trust. Purity, sustainability, and ethical sourcing matter deeply to me. Overharvesting and poor practices not only harm the plants but also the farmers and communities who grow them. Supporting companies that honor both the land and the people ensures we’re part of something that gives back.



Bringing It All Together

Essential oils have become so much more than just pleasant aromas in my life. They’ve helped me create a more peaceful home, supported my health, and deepened my spiritual practices. When used wisely—with education and care—they truly offer a holistic way to nurture body, mind, and spirit.
